NO MORE PIPELINES!

UNDERSTAND WHAT'S AT STAKE

The Sabal Trail Pipeline is a methane gas pipeline currently under construction here in Florida. It will include approximately 515 miles of interstate natural gas pipeline (86 miles in Alabama, 162 miles in Georgia, 268 miles in Florida) and, initially at least two compressor stations at the beginning and end of the pipeline system. A total of five stations along the pipeline will be constructed by 2021.

This project represents a multi-decade long investment for the fossil fuel industry. That means more domestic production, more transport, more destruction, more leaks. The pipeline will cross the most exposed part of the Floridan Aquifer, which is home to hun-dreds of springs, rivers, lakes and streams harming 1,958 wetland systems . This aquifer also underlies an area of ~100,000 square miles and provides drinking water to over 10 million people in cities such as Savanah, Brunswick, Orlando, Jacksonville, and Tallahassee.

Activists from across the country have been inspired by the heroism shown by indigenous leaders in the fight against the Dakota Access pipeline. Peaceful, but direct, resistance is the key to protecting our natural world and her waterways from the destructive process of fossil fuel extraction, transport, refinement, and use. The resistance is already underway, but we need your help. Activism manifests in many forms, both on and off the front lines. Contact the growing spirit camps to learn how you can help.

Critics Call $3 Billion Sabal Trail Pipeline Florida’s Dakota Access Pipeline

As opposition to the Dakota Access pipeline swells at home and abroad, another pipeline project at the other end of the U.S. is quietly being installed as fast as possible, critics say, displacing residents, threatening water supplies, and racking up alleged construction violations. And most people in the region — even those in the pipeline’s path — haven’t even heard about it...
